Online payment in different currencies

You can check with the online merchants on the payment currency. If the billed payment is in foreign currency, the Hong Kong dollars equivalent amount will be deducted after applying an exchange rate which adopted by Visa on the date of transaction posting. The exchange rate embedded a fee of 0.95% of the payment amount charged by the Bank and a fee of 1% of payment amount charged by Visa (total 1.95%).

If the billed payment is in Hong Kong dollar, the payment amount will be deducted from your account directly. That amount already includes all the applicable charges by the merchants and no extra charge will be charged by the Bank.

Please note that the currency option is a direct arrangement offered by the overseas merchants or online stores but not ZA bank. Since settling a foreign currency transaction in Hong Kong dollar may involve a higher cost, customers are reminded to make enquiries directly through the merchants or online stores for the exchange rates and the charges to be applied before confirming any transactions.
